Maurice Chauvet's short film THREE-FIFTY

THREE-FIFTY was the winner of the Audience Award at the
Dances With Films festival in Los Angeles in July 2007,
earned Best Picture at the 2007 West Virginia Filmmakers Festival,
and took home the People's Choice Award at the 2007 Taos Shortz Film Fest.

THREE-FIFTY was originally produced on stage
by the Apartment A theater company in Venice, CA.

Chauvet used the actors who created the roles
on stage in this film version of THREE-FIFTY:
Michael Angeleo Stuno
Evin Grensted and
Melinda Augustina

THREE-FIFTY was filmed at the beloved Vidiot's
video store in Santa Monica, CA., and it was based
on an experience Chauvet had there years ago.
"Some guy at the counter told a horribly unconvincing
tale of how he returned his movies on time.
THREE-FIFTY reflects my desire to punish him," he jokes.

Power Hungry Productions, "The Sustainable Production Initiative,"
and our short film THREE-FIFTY began as a solar-powered
project. Inspired and encouraged by filmmaker Jack Bibbo and
his solar-powered film, FULL CIRCLE, the original plan even
included building a solar powered generator – and then the reality
of the production hit. THREE-FIFTY was to be a night shoot.
In the end, rehearsals were accomplished in a 100% solar-powered
building (8 pre-production hours) and a solar-charged marine battery
was used during production to power the coffee pot (very important
on a night shoot), re-charge cell phone batteries and re-charge the
boom microphone batteries. The solar panel and converter was
generously loaned by ABC Solar and it's solar genius Bradley Bartz.

Approximately 90% of the recyclable materials were recycled.

THREE-FIFTY made its world premier in April 2007 at the
Aspen ShortsFest in Aspen, CO. It was one of only 12
American films accepted into the prestigious festival.
Indie-Wire caled it one of the two notable American films at the fest.
